KOTOR III: Invasion, Chapter 3

Chapter III

It had been one month already in flight. With the strict schedule

that Arracus had set, there was little time for leaves when they entered port.

They had just left Nzara, a very remote, desolate planet, which had only been

welcomed into the republic a few hundred years ago. Hulas Edgeland, the

pilot, was used to the long days and weeks of space travel, but was in no way

as at ease as Arracus. From his command days he had seen many extremely long

passing periods flying his capital ship around to various parts of the galaxy.

Although the Ebon Hawk hadn't nearly as many things to take care of as did a

Capital Ship, he was accustomed to.

Mareth had the hardest time. He was by now completely on edge, his

lightsaber practice as well as his meditation was severely hampered during

the trip. There was no improvement in his knowledge of the force.

"Arracus to the bridge." the PA sounded.

Arracus awoke from his meditation and grabbed his cloak as he walked to

the bridge.

"Yes?" he said.

"We got some trouble...pirates. Just picked them up on the scanners.

Headed this way." said Edgeland without a hint of worry in his voice. "I've

dealt with these guys many times, I can outrun 'em."

"Are you confident in that ability?" Responded Arracus.

Just then a small red light started to flash upon the console. "Their

sending us a message" said Edgeland as he hit the play button.

"This is private space, leave this zone immediately or be prepared to be

boarded" the message pronounced.

"They always try to sound like you’re the one who's doing something

wrong." Edgeland spoke out of experience.

"Those are converted intersolar freighters, they could house a lot of

men." Arracus said. "Take evasive action."

The Ebon Hawk, with Edgeland at the controls, immediately dove into what

Edgeland would call 'evasive maneuvers.' From the outside, it looked as

thought the Ebon Hawk had turned into some kind of space butterfly. Its

movements were erratic and random. Just like the butterflies on

Dantooine, the Ebon Hawk looked out of control. But that was exactly what

Edgleland wanted because as soon as he had started, the pirate ship had opened

fire on the Hawk, firing its green lasers too late at the spots that she had

just visited.

Mareth entered the room and spoke "what's this?"

"Pirates" responded Arracus. "Edgeland is doing his best to get us-"

Just then one lone turret connected with the Ebon Hawk, immediately

throwing her to right. "Crap. Where hit." Edgeland said with worry in his

voice. "I'm loosing power to the engines. The blast must have been the

ruptured Engine coolant. We wont be able to fly much longer with out it."

"Can we jump?" Mareth injected.

"No, with out the coolant the hyper drive will melt the aft hull."

Edgeland responded.

"Continue to evading." Arracus pronounced over the sound of the

alarms. "Mareth come with me." Mareth and Arracus walked back to the center

rotunda. Arracus could see that Mareth already new his plan and that he

couldn't wait if it meant getting off this ship for just a few seconds. "We

don't have much time. Put on your exterior spacesuit."

"We're going outside, right!?" Mareth said, with the excitement in his

voice rising.

"Yes." Within minuets they were both dressed in there spacesuits and

had put on their magnetic boots. "Follow me and make sure you have a solid

foothold before you start attacking."

"Yes, master."

Arracus climbed slowly up the hatch in the center of the ship followed

by Mareth at his heels, clumsily. When they got outside and sealed the hatch

they could see the pirate ship out in the distance, about three minuets from

them. To the aft of the ship there was a great nebula or green and white

dust, birthing huge massive stars. An entire galaxy's worth of stars dotted

the horizon of the Ebon Hawk's hull.

Just then the pirate ships sent two laser blast right across the Hawk,

disrupting the peace and calm that had come over the two Jedi as they walked

around the ship. As the Pirate ship closed in the turret on the Ebon Hawk

fired up and began sending a volley of lasers toward the approaching ship.

"They will try to board us" spoke Arracus over the suit's PA, "when

they get close jump onto the hull and start looking for a hatch."

The pirates came in close, the turrets had now ceased firing, Arracus

could see that the ship had been through a rough time recently and had many

scares across her hull of laser grazing. Although there were unusual types of

lasers. Instead of a burn mark, which was typical of lasers, there were

scratch marks that looked as though it was hit by some sort of metallic object.

The ship had approached within feet of the Ebon Hawk when Arracus said

"Jump!" Both the Jedi leaped not upward, but instead knelt down in a stance

similar to that of a sprinter and pushed off with their feet, sending them

forward to the pirates.

They landed with a hard pound of metal on metal. Then quickly got up

and began their search for a hatch. While Arracus was skewering the hull

Edgeland came over his PA and with a worried voice said "I hope you guys can

do something quickly, because they've already started knocking on the door!"

Arracus responded with a stern argument assuring Edgeland to have faith and

hold out as long as possible.

"Master, Here!" Mareth responded with glee. "I've found the hatch!"

Arracus ran over the Mareth as fast as his suit could take him.

"Alright, get you lightsaber out we're going to bore through this into the

airlock." With two completely silent glows Mareth's blue and Arracus's Yellow

lightsabers burst out of their hilts and then were plunged into the ships

hatch.

It only took seconds before the hatch was weak enough to remove. But

as they did so the hatch blew off the hull of the ship and shot straight

upward toward Mareth's head. He quickly dodged it, for Arracus had warned him

before that if the Airlock was pressurized then the hatch could blow off.

The two of them jumped down into the airlock and Arracus hit the

back-up hatch, which sealed the exposed space above their heads off. After

the area had pressurized again, both Jedi took off their spacesuits in what

were very cramped quarters.

"Ready?" Arracus asked Mareth, "I expect they know we're here so when

I open this door get ready for a fight. Remember, these are lonesome pirates,

and they will be equipped with blasters, and no skills. So we must move

quickly and ruthlessly through them to get to the bridge. Just like the

simulator."

"Understood." Said Mareth, visually shaking.

Arracus hit the airlock door button and the door opened up in a matter

of milliseconds. Mareth, who had already drawn his lightsaber, flew across the

corridor to the wall opposite the airlock. He was anticipating scores of

enemies but when he jumped back to the floor he looked around in amazement.

There was no one there. He turned to his master and before he could talk- "I

was counting on this" Arracus said, taking out his lightsaber. "they don't

know we're hear but they are trying to surround us. This way."

They ran to the left of the airlock door and around the corner to a

larger room filled with tall men all dressed in the same uniform. The Uniform

Arracus had seen before, it was that of a Sith soldier. Twenty of them were

in the room gathered around a large rectangular carpet in which kneeled the

obvious dark Jedi controlling the ship.

Arracus prepared for a fight.

Return

After a much neaded vacation from the Kotor III story, I have returned. I've already started work on chapter III and it should be ready by the end of the week. Over the winter break I shall expect to make major headway in the story and possibly even be able to formulate a multi-dimensional ending to go with this awsome story. Check back soon for Chapter III

KOTOR 3: Invasion, Chapter 2

Chapter II

Master Arracus and Mareth borded their ship bound for the void. As they did a thought raced through their minds simultaniously. The thought was of the stories they've heared of the unexplainable things which live, and die on the outer reaches of the Galaxy. Most of the void planets have no ties to either the Sith or the Republic. They exist solly by themselves. Some haven't even had contact with outside lifeforms. However, it is never the stories of the planets of the void, but rather the strange and unuall creatures which live in such locations, completely devoid of life. There had been many journeys out into the void, but not many came back, and those who did never found anything but the empty vacume of space. Some of the very ambicious explorers accually tried to travel to neighboring galaxies. A journy that would take four life times, is the reason no one has come back.

As Arracus borded the ship he was welcomed by its pilot, captian Hulas Edgeland. 'welcome abord the Ebon Hawk' he said to Arracus with an outstreached hand. 'I don't think this ships ever seen a Jedi before! but I'm sure you'll find it satisfactory.'

'All your ship needs to do is to get us from planet to planet in one piece.' Responded Arracus.

'Ohh, she'll do that alright, don't worry about that. Me and this baby have been through a lot.' Edgeland reassured.

'Are we the entire crew?' Asked Mareth.

'Us and my utility droid, T3-M4. But don't worry he wont get in the way.' Edgeland explained to them as they walked into the center rotunda. 'Now, as for room assignments, Jedi on starboard, non-Jedi on port. I run a tight ship, and I don't want any screwin' around. Understood?'

'Listen you smuggler, as of this moment I am the captian of this ship, no orders are executed without my permission.' Arracus had always been in complete control in any ship he ever entered. And just because this wasn't a Corellian Capital Ship didn't mean that he would make an exception. 'You are only here because you know how tho fly this piece of junk. You will not even THINK to breath without asking me...Is that understood?'

Dead silence. Edgeland stood like a marble statue for minuets afterwards. Edgeland couldn't believe that what he just heared came from a Jedi. Usually they are quiet and just sit down and meditate. But this one was more of an Admiral than a keeper of the peace. Mareth chuckled under his breath, as he remembered the time Arracus had first given him the same shock.

'Uhhh...yes...sir...master...uhhhh' was Edgeland's response.

'No lets lift off, it's a two month trip to our destination' Arracus commanded.

'Master, may I ask...where is our first destination?' replied Mareth.

'In the same direction Revan left in, is where we should find clues to his where abouts.' aswered Arracus.

'Right, so what direction was that?' Edgeland interrupted.

After the cordinates where punched in, and the final checks were made, the Ebon Hawk was on its way to the very outer reaches of the Galaxy.

KOTOR 3: Invasion, Chapter 1

Chapter I

Six Jedi Masters sit around a circular room in heated debate on the metropolis planet of Curosaunt. Their words and actions carfully premeditated and then delivered with meaningful movements. The attention in the room is centralized around one man, who seems to be the vortex of all such deliberations, Master Antonin, the one force adept who after all the years of decay the jedi order has endured was able to pull the self-rightous group from the jaws of destruction. Over the past ten years since the destruction of the the Sith Lords, and the death of the exile, Master Antonin has been traveling the galaxy finding new, prospective students to enter the reborn accadamy on Curosaunt.

With him today sits the rest of the Masters Antonin recruited durring his ventures throught the galaxy. Master Thrift, a small, softspoken man of sixty years of age, a veteran of all force meditations and forsight. Master Saerg, one of the galaxy's strongest, and most skilled worriors of the light, he has lead the fight against the many bounties posted on Jedi heads. Master Zhar, who had miraculously survived the Sith bombardment of Dantooine a while back. He had vanished from the face of the galazy after that only to return after feeling the new Jedi Council gathering. Master Vidale was a prospective student who found an incredible connection and wisdom to the force. She had felt an echo in the force on the planet of Corellia on a shipdock, this echo eventually became the last and most recent Jedi on the Council, Master Arracus. Master Arracus had been an expert tactision and logisticist in the Correllian millitary. His connection to the force was a times, debatable, but his skill with a lightsaber was undiniable.

'We can't afford to wait if he plans to continue he previous objectives!' proclaimed Master Saerg.

'And we shouldn't be hasty, he left for a reason. And he still hasn't returned.' Responded Master Vidale. She continued 'Besides the republic is strong enough now to resist such an attack.'

'There is no ignorance, there is knowledge' reminded Master Thrift, 'just because he isn't present at the moment doesnt' mean he wont come back with as large of a force as he did durring the Jedi Civil War.'

'Master Thrift is correct, even with the republic's full armata, not even I could have withstood his might durring the Civil Wars' Replied Master Arracus.

The topic of the mornings session was on the whereabouts of Revan. Revan had nearly destroyed the Republic and the Jedi order twice. But when he had it on its knees, he left. And no one know to where.

'what would you suggest then, send out a fleet to look for him?' responded Vidale.

'Don't be so -' Saerg was cuttoff.

'We will send one master to the outer reaches of the galaxy to find Revan. This master will be accompianied by thier apprentice' - Antonin

'who will you pick to undertake such a perilous task master?' Vidale said.

'Master Arracus will'

Arracus stood there with amazment, he had just become a Master and now they wanted him to go find Revan? This seemed to behappening all too fast for Arracus, who was in shock a couple moments after the announcement. 'uh.....me.....master are you sure?'

'You exibit all the necessary surrvival skills that you will need when in the void.' Antonin said 'I see in you the same characteristics of myself when I was wondering the galaxy.'

'I gracously accept this task, but I fear my apprentice isn't up to the task. He hasn't yet grasped the full concepts of the force.'

'Yet he has mastered the lightsaber, a skill he must have. Besides, no one here has yet to master the force on such a scale as you speak of Arracus.'

'This is pupostrous, Master Antonin, Surly we don't want to risk the life of our newest master when he has just entered the council.' Master Thrift exclaimed.

After much more deliberation that day, the council had decided that Arracus would indead be the idea canadate for the mission. Although none we content with the decision besides Antonin, they all felt as though the force had guided Arracus to them in order for him to undertake the mission.

Meanwile in the Jedi training room, Master Arracus's apprentice Hess Von Mareth was practicing his famed lightsaber technique.

Mareth was a prodigy from the moment he was found on the planet or Onderon fighting for his life against Beast riders attacking the city. His fiece determination and concentration is what set him apart form the competition. He wielded a double-sided 'heart of the guardian' lightsaber at the moment. If there was something unuall about Mareth it was that he never stuck with one type of lightsaber, he would be always perfecting his skills with single, dual, double-sided, or even in the most amazment to his master, a combination of double sided and single in the other hand.

Across his path lay thousand of melee combat droids. Mareth had been practicing endurance with his double-bladed saber for an hour straight, he had droids pooring out the the seven doors to the arena. As soon as one would come out of the reasembly workshop it would have an average lifespan of about 45 seconds till it was cutt down by Mareth's lightsaber.

'Mareth!' Arracus shouted as he shut down the ring and walked up to his apprentice. 'you might be able to engage 100 droids in an second, but can you withstand a single Sith master for more than a minute?'

'Well, master there arn't that many sith around anymore so I don't see the point in trying to fight something that isn't there.' Mareth responded.

'Well, then the answer's no. If you believe that just because they havent show themselves mean their not there then they have already won.' His master responded.

'Yes, master I understand'

'Pack your things we are leaving on a voyage to the void in five hours, get ready I'll explain it to you on the way.'

And with that, the two of the acadamy's greatest Jedi left the planet never to return the same. There was no doubt in Antonin's mind that he had made the right choice abot sending Arracus, and his will resonated throughout the acadamy through ever force sensitive, filling them with the same surness.

KOTOR 3: the ongoing list

This is where I will be posting my personal preferences for KOTOR 3. This will be an ongoing post.

Story:
Four years after the Sith Lords, the Jedi acadamy on courasont is thriving thanks to a jedi Master Nietzsche that has comeback from the outer-rim and inspired a large Jedi revival after the near extinction of them only years before.

One of the leading members on the council is your character. Along with Master Nietzsche and other the game starts off diliberating the where abouts of Revan. In these diliberations, your character is sent with the party of his choosing to go in search of Revan in the outer reaches of the Galaxy.

As you character travels across the galaxy in seach he picks up clues from different worlds. After all the clues as to Revan's whereabouts are discovered your character is able to get the precise quardanits as to Revan's loaction.

However, when you get there, Your ship is boarded and you are taken captive by an alien space fleet, one you have never seen before. As you sit in your holding cell a man/woman enters the detention area. It is none other than Revan.

Revan explains to you that he came out the the far reaches to hunt down the true sith. But when he got there, he was astonished to find that the Sith were fighting a loosing battle with an alien race from another Galaxy.

Now the Sith are all but destroyed, Revan explains to you that the alien race he travels with have a very unique story:

Thousands of years ago, when the Rakatan empire ruled the Galaxy, they sent a fleet of ships too the next galaxy to expand their empire. The Rakatans quickly started to conquer the galaxy but where defeated in a heroic battle that turned the tide of the war. The Rakatan threat was destroyed. The Rakatan's where very well versed in the Force, so when they apreared in the new galaxy their force powers and techniques where absorbed very rapidly by the surounding populations. Of these populations one speices was strongest with the force and was able to become powerful enough to create an empire across their galaxy. As a result all the invasion force is made up of force sensitives. As their culture grew, they discoved where the Rakatan threat had come from, and sout out to destroy it. However when they got the the galaxy they were confused to see that the Rakatan's had been destroyed. Due to the Sith's personallity to newcommers they quickly began a war that was won by the guys from the other galaxy ("guys" for now). So now is a critical point in the galaxy's live. Weather or not the guys will continue their invasion, or return home.
Weather or not you are light or darkside, the guys decide to invade and claim the galaxy. Now is when there comes a choice. Do you side with the guys, (dark) or escape to the republic to warn them about this invasion (light). Revan will make the same choices which will rely on what you said while discussing his/her past.

The majority of the game will then be made up of fighting for or agianst the invasion.

Lightside: when the war begins to go south. You discover something startling that could save the galaxy. Since all the invasion force is force sensitive, then someone like Darth Nihilus could literally devower the entire fleet. But there are two problems, Nihilus is dead, and once he consumes all those soles, he will be too powerfull to control. So you arive at the conlcusion that someone must set out to resurect Nihilus or become like him.

Darkside: As you tear through the galaxy conquering worlds faster than ever, you learn more about the invaders and thier society. You learn that there are a total of 7 fleets that are traveling to this galaxy and the one your in is only the first. You also discover that on one of the fleets is the the Emporer of the other galaxy. He is the most powerful force user in the universe and cannot be stopped with conventional means. In fact the emporer is thousands of years old and was around durring the time of the Rakatans. When the Emporer gets to the galaxy he will destroy all who oppose his empire.

Ending: As the race to the core worlds nears, things get despreate. Nihilus is still not around so there seems nothing to stop the invasion. However, as the invasion fleet reaches corasant, Master Nietzsche, reveals himself as Darth Nihilus. He explains that he wasn't in the outer-reaches of space durring the past years, but instead was a slave to Nihilus, and when he was killed by the exile, his powers, mind and body were transfused into Nietzsche. In a great display of power, Nietzsche/Nihilus devowers the incomming fleets. Durring this he becomes innormulously power full and has powers which are invinceible.

With Nihilus's new power he becomes the most power force wielder ever. But the invaders have another trick up their sleeves.

In the nick of time, the new fleets arive. And the Emporer is carried on one of them. Nihilus and the emporer feel eachother's presence and block each other off. (meaning none of thier powers could be used against eachother). For the first time you see the Emporer emerge from his chamber to go planetside inorder to face Nihilus.

The battle that insues nearly destorys the entire planet. Meanwhile your character fights his way through the streets of Corasaunt to the Jedi temple where Nihilus and The Emporer fight. When your character gets there he is faced with another choice. 1. Do nothing, 2. Join Nihilus 3. Join the emporer. however when you join the battle you're quickly thrown off to the side.

While the fight rages the republic forces are completely obliterated by the new fleets that have arrived. The invaders have successfully conquered the galaxy.

(to be continued)
