KOTOR 3: Invasion, Chapter 1

Chapter I

Six Jedi Masters sit around a circular room in heated debate on the metropolis planet of Curosaunt. Their words and actions carfully premeditated and then delivered with meaningful movements. The attention in the room is centralized around one man, who seems to be the vortex of all such deliberations, Master Antonin, the one force adept who after all the years of decay the jedi order has endured was able to pull the self-rightous group from the jaws of destruction. Over the past ten years since the destruction of the the Sith Lords, and the death of the exile, Master Antonin has been traveling the galaxy finding new, prospective students to enter the reborn accadamy on Curosaunt.

With him today sits the rest of the Masters Antonin recruited durring his ventures throught the galaxy. Master Thrift, a small, softspoken man of sixty years of age, a veteran of all force meditations and forsight. Master Saerg, one of the galaxy's strongest, and most skilled worriors of the light, he has lead the fight against the many bounties posted on Jedi heads. Master Zhar, who had miraculously survived the Sith bombardment of Dantooine a while back. He had vanished from the face of the galazy after that only to return after feeling the new Jedi Council gathering. Master Vidale was a prospective student who found an incredible connection and wisdom to the force. She had felt an echo in the force on the planet of Corellia on a shipdock, this echo eventually became the last and most recent Jedi on the Council, Master Arracus. Master Arracus had been an expert tactision and logisticist in the Correllian millitary. His connection to the force was a times, debatable, but his skill with a lightsaber was undiniable.

'We can't afford to wait if he plans to continue he previous objectives!' proclaimed Master Saerg.

'And we shouldn't be hasty, he left for a reason. And he still hasn't returned.' Responded Master Vidale. She continued 'Besides the republic is strong enough now to resist such an attack.'

'There is no ignorance, there is knowledge' reminded Master Thrift, 'just because he isn't present at the moment doesnt' mean he wont come back with as large of a force as he did durring the Jedi Civil War.'

'Master Thrift is correct, even with the republic's full armata, not even I could have withstood his might durring the Civil Wars' Replied Master Arracus.

The topic of the mornings session was on the whereabouts of Revan. Revan had nearly destroyed the Republic and the Jedi order twice. But when he had it on its knees, he left. And no one know to where.

'what would you suggest then, send out a fleet to look for him?' responded Vidale.

'Don't be so -' Saerg was cuttoff.

'We will send one master to the outer reaches of the galaxy to find Revan. This master will be accompianied by thier apprentice' - Antonin

'who will you pick to undertake such a perilous task master?' Vidale said.

'Master Arracus will'

Arracus stood there with amazment, he had just become a Master and now they wanted him to go find Revan? This seemed to behappening all too fast for Arracus, who was in shock a couple moments after the announcement. 'uh.....me.....master are you sure?'

'You exibit all the necessary surrvival skills that you will need when in the void.' Antonin said 'I see in you the same characteristics of myself when I was wondering the galaxy.'

'I gracously accept this task, but I fear my apprentice isn't up to the task. He hasn't yet grasped the full concepts of the force.'

'Yet he has mastered the lightsaber, a skill he must have. Besides, no one here has yet to master the force on such a scale as you speak of Arracus.'

'This is pupostrous, Master Antonin, Surly we don't want to risk the life of our newest master when he has just entered the council.' Master Thrift exclaimed.

After much more deliberation that day, the council had decided that Arracus would indead be the idea canadate for the mission. Although none we content with the decision besides Antonin, they all felt as though the force had guided Arracus to them in order for him to undertake the mission.

Meanwile in the Jedi training room, Master Arracus's apprentice Hess Von Mareth was practicing his famed lightsaber technique.

Mareth was a prodigy from the moment he was found on the planet or Onderon fighting for his life against Beast riders attacking the city. His fiece determination and concentration is what set him apart form the competition. He wielded a double-sided 'heart of the guardian' lightsaber at the moment. If there was something unuall about Mareth it was that he never stuck with one type of lightsaber, he would be always perfecting his skills with single, dual, double-sided, or even in the most amazment to his master, a combination of double sided and single in the other hand.

Across his path lay thousand of melee combat droids. Mareth had been practicing endurance with his double-bladed saber for an hour straight, he had droids pooring out the the seven doors to the arena. As soon as one would come out of the reasembly workshop it would have an average lifespan of about 45 seconds till it was cutt down by Mareth's lightsaber.

'Mareth!' Arracus shouted as he shut down the ring and walked up to his apprentice. 'you might be able to engage 100 droids in an second, but can you withstand a single Sith master for more than a minute?'

'Well, master there arn't that many sith around anymore so I don't see the point in trying to fight something that isn't there.' Mareth responded.

'Well, then the answer's no. If you believe that just because they havent show themselves mean their not there then they have already won.' His master responded.

'Yes, master I understand'

'Pack your things we are leaving on a voyage to the void in five hours, get ready I'll explain it to you on the way.'

And with that, the two of the acadamy's greatest Jedi left the planet never to return the same. There was no doubt in Antonin's mind that he had made the right choice abot sending Arracus, and his will resonated throughout the acadamy through ever force sensitive, filling them with the same surness.
